Sunday Necro: The Final 2006 Edition

Filed Under (Halloween) by necromagickal on 31-12-2006

Welcome to the last day of the year 2006. And as such welcome to the final edition of the Sunday Necro for the year 2006 (yeah I know you’re happy about that). I hope your year was better than mine. Mine ends on being stranded in 2 feet of snow in the desert while trying not to slip off the wagon (funny South Western pun huh?).

Page One: News

For those film geeks out there in GD land, John Carpenter’s Halloween has finally been initiated into the National Film Registry by the Librarian of Congress. You, like me, can now sleep better with this knowlege. No, it’s cool news really. For more information on what other films were also added follow the link.

And for the political ghouls out there, we all know the Saddam Hussein hanging video is on the web. BUT…in most places it is edited. The unedited version complete with graphics may be found from certain profiles on Myspace (at least in the bulletin of one of my “friends”). Not sure you can find it but wanted to inform you it’s out there.

Page Two: Film/DVD news

Black Christmas sucked (so “they” say) and dvd geeks can relax because Night of the Comet will be coming to dvd via Lion’s Gate in March.

Page Three: Weather

I am stuck in two feet of snow in one of the desert states, how bout’ you?

THANK YOU

I want to thank all my Ghost Droppings Friends for making this past year one of the best ever. You guys and gals are great! Together we have created the best haunt community on the net. The love and support given to each other is unprecedented. Nowhere else can you find such a caring group of people with a common goal, scaring the crap outa people. Well, that may not be everyones goal but you get the idea.
This past year has seen a lot of challenges for some of our group, some good, some not so good. It didn’t matter to any of you, you were all supportive of your friends. We’ve had the highs of new additions to our group, cute little ones we’re still waiting to see pix of, to the lows of our friends health at risk. At every turn you stepped up and offered the support that helps us all get through times of change and stress. Thats something thats not easy to find in todays world. It is very comforting to know that you have a group you can bring a problem to, no matter how large or small, and you will be treated with respect and freely given any help needed. You, as a group, should be congratulated.
OK, enough of the mussy stuff. I wish each and every one of the best New Year ever. If the upcoming year is half as good as the past one we are in for a great time. I hope all your celebrations are fun and safe. If your gunna imbibe, please don’t drive, other than that PARTY HARDY!!!

Thank you my friends. Have a Great New Year

Next time I’ll take my laptop, although it was nice not lugging it around.
Below the fold[so to speak]you’ll find the pic maven said I wouldn’t post. And shes right I shouldn’t have, this is a family show, but you know…

GREETINGS

Hello my fellow Droplings, I have returned from with in the belly of the giant silver winged beast. I say this every time I return from a trip, its fun to get away but it is way, way better to come home. There truly is no place like home. Didn’t someone say that once….in a movie or something? Dunno. This will be a short one, I got home a lot latter than planned ’cause I got bumped off the first flight. The airline was kind enough to provide me with a thrill ride, a fifty mile taxi trip with “Mustafa” and his almost English at 95mph down a crowded freeway zigging and zagging thru traffic. People at Disneyland pay big bucks for that kind of thrill. Mine was free. Forgot the Hickory Farms Beef Stick was in my carry on at the first security check point, that was fun. Little TSA minimum wage people getting excited and flapping all over the terminal. What some people won’t do for entertainment. Remembered to take it out at the second airport, short on time, too bad, it was kinda fun…
Well since I’ve been off playing like a good son for the last week I have absolutely no idea whats going on or what to post so I’ll take the easy way again and use some links the lovely Maven has sent to me, thanks Maven, you’re a sweetheart, [OK. don't hit][LOL]
I like this first one, lots of creepy things to check out, someday when I have “spare” time I’ll look closer, for now I’ll leave it up to you and maybe you can post some highlights for the rest of us, http://www.lostdestinations.com/hauntedplaces.htm

Well it’s a slow and sleepy Thursday news wise so I’ll throw a few random things at you. First, for you horror action figure collectors, NECA has announced some its 2007 line that may be seen at its Myspace page:

A big thank you to our second writer and first Creeporter Mike “Even though I have time to write I still have time to poke Lucretia with large pointy things” Allen for illuminating me to this little gem which is pretty cool (yea, that bidder is me if you care). The Bloody Mary mirror is also very cool.
