David Skal, Author of Hollywood Gothic: The Tangled Web of Dracula from Novel to Stage to Screen, takes time to discuss his book and take questions on all things pertaining to vampires on NPR. I prefer the more alluring vampire to the original, as he calls it, Darwinian vampire. Reminds me of a favorite Amazing Stories of a old, wise vampire who moved constantly because people had built immunities to his kind whereby they’d attack HIM in the night without recalling anything in the morning. The people being horrified the next day to hear of the gruesome murder of the kindly old gentleman down the lane.
